The Huntington Fire Department is now accepting applications through June 14, 2020.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced that Huntington has been selected to receive two Brownfields cleanup and assessment grants totaling $812,590.

The City of Huntington has organized a first-responder parade to salute health care workers at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center on Thursday, April 30. Vehicles in the parade will line up at Huntington Fire Department Centennial Station No. 1, 839 7th Ave., at 11:45 a.m. They will leave at noon and travel to Cabell Huntington Hospital and then to St. Mary’s.

The City of Huntington has been recognized as a Tree City USA community for 2020 by the Arbor Day Foundation. This is the 20th year that Huntington has received the recognition from the program, which has been greening up cities and communities since 1976.

The City of Huntington is extending its period for waiving penalties that have accrued on delinquent municipal service and refuse fees through June 30, 2020.
