Safety Town

Safety Town was established in the 1970s at Miller Elementary School in Huntington. After a successful start, the City of Huntington purchased property at 1450 Memorial Boulevard to build a miniature town and classroom building for what would become the present-day program. For decades now, Safety Town has educated second-grade students who attend public and private schools in Cabell and Wayne counties.

Safety Town's vision is to create a culture of safety and teach children how to respond to unsafe situations appropriately. Safety Town instructs children on transportation safety, fire safety, personal safety and violence prevention.
