Heritage Village

Photo of Huntington"s Famous First Bank.Heritage Village is a plaza located along Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Eleventh Street across from the Riverfront Park. The theme of the plaza comes from our city's past. Collis P. Huntington, our city's founder, bought the C & O Railroad and completed laying the railroad from Richmond, Virginia. to the Ohio River, making Huntington a major transfer point between the river boats and the railway lines.

The Village includes the renovated B & O Railway Station, an authentic locomotive, a renovated Pullman Car, various businesses, stores and restaurants. Huntingtons first bank, built in 1873, has been renovated and is included among the shops there also. The former bank was allegedly robbed by the James Gang on September 6, 1875.
