Gets Right," describes Huntington's reaction to the Dec.
12 premiere, the national rollout of the film and other "big
doin's." Writes Alipour, "Like the story it tells, the
film itself is an unlikely source of jubilation for this city

their story -- their story -- and the people of Huntington couldn't

Gene Shalit Gives Film an Enthusiastic Endorsement:
On NBC's "Today Show," Gene Shalit's Critic's Corner
has given We Are Marshall a huge thumbs up, saying "Jamie
Linden's screenplay .. and McG's direction neither fumble off
the field nor make a single false step on it." He adds, "The
picture straight-arms every threat of melodrama. We Are Marshall
is such a shining, feel-good film that next year college football
fans, while cheering for their own teams' play, will send a score

Huntington Praised on the Tonight Show. Matthew McConaughey,
appearing Thursday night on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, spoke
fondly of Huntington and how its people came to embrace the movie
makers and the entire concept of the film, after an understandable

Buy Premiere Pictures: Marshall University is selling
digital photographs that were taken during the Dec. 12 We
Are Marshall premiere. Photo sizes and prices vary, but they
begin at $2 for a 4” x 6” print and go to a $20 package
from a single image that includes two 5” x 7” prints,
one 8” x 10” print, and eight wallet-size prints.
Marshall’s share of the proceeds from the sale of the pictures
will go toward scholarships for students. Click
