The City of Huntington Fire Department goes through the testing process at a minimum once every three years. An original appointment list is compiled from the testing process. Candidates are hired from the original appointment list as needed when positions become available.

No, a candidate is not required to have any previous fire classes or firefighting experience prior to applying. All necessary training is provided for new employees once hired.
