Useful Information for property owners

·         Grass may not exceed 12 inches in height.

·         Garbage may not be put out for pick up prior to 6:00 pm the night before scheduled pick-up.

·         Garbage scattered due to a lack of a container is the responsibility of the owner.

·         There is a Zero Tolerance policy on Unlicensed or Junk Vehicles. They must be removed by the owner of the property.

·         Unsafe Building Commission meets on the 2^nd Thursday of each month at 10:00 am, in Council Chambers

·         Tenant and landlord agreements have precedent. Tenants have responsibilities as do landlords.

·         Dietz’s Hollow Landfill operating hours (At the end of S. High St. in Guyandotte) Mon-Fri 8am-2pm & every 3^rd Saturday 8am-1:30pm.

·         City workers, as well as Dietz’s Hollow Landfill will accept yard waste bundled 6 inches in diameter and not exceeding 6 foot in length.  

·         Dietz’s Hollow will accept garbage not exceeding one pick-up truck load per month. Proper city residency ID required (Driver’s License with Huntington address as well as a vehicle with WV plates).

·         The City of Huntington will make a special pick up of excess trash once a month, not exceeding one pick-up truck load. For special pick-ups, please call (304)696-4431 for proper handling instruction.  The City will not come onto private property.
